Lorne John "Gump" Worsley was given his nickname because his friends thought he looked like comic-strip character Andy Gump. He was signed to the New York Rangers in 1952 and though playing for a last place team, won the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year. In 1954 he took the goalie position away from future NHL star Johnny Bower.
This finished frame measures 21"x30".
